As the rising cost of educational resources has caused concern on campuses across the country, the WSU Libraries and Academic Outreach and Innovation invite you to attend two events that consider how universities can reduce the cost of course materials.

 OpenStax Webinar with Nicole Finkbeiner-  April 19, 10-30-11:30 in Terrell 20E

OpenStax is a program coordinated by Rice University that publishes peer-reviewed texts by professional content developers. These textbooks are available to students digitally at no cost and in print at low cost. Using their model for authoring and publishing textbooks, OpenStax has reported saving students millions in course costs. This session may be particularly relevant to general education instructors.

 Educational Technology Open House - April 20, 2-4 pm, Terrell Library Quiet Study Lounge

This event will emphasize resources that are available to WSU instructors and students at low to zero cost. Included in the open house will be: OpenStax textbooks, OpenIntro texts, Open SUNY texts, BCCampus open textbooks, MERLOT, interactive simulations, Google Cardboard/VR, Google Earth, 3D printing, Kurzweil 3000/Firefly, Open Textbook Library, Flat World Knowledge, Scalar, and library-licensed e-resources. Refreshments provided!
