What can I do at the CDSC?

  • Data curation: get help with ethically and responsibly curating your cultural resources or managing your collections using Mukurtu CMS.
  • Digitization: digitize photos, documents and/or objects for your community’s collections management project or research initiative.
  • Preservation: learn about best practices for the organization and preservation of your community’s digital cultural heritage.
  • Workshops: learn how to use digital tools and how to share knowledge back with your community.
  • Training: we train graduate students and provide opportunities for faculty development in the introduction of technology and hands-on activities into their curriculums.
  • Grant writing: let us help you or your community writing a grant proposal for your digital project.
  • Research: the CDSC invites faculty and graduate students to conduct their research on digital scholarship and explore new and emerging models of digital research, publishing and peer review.
  • Conferences: CDSC organizes conferences and lectures on digital scholarship and curation in collaboration with faculty at the College of Arts and Science and MASC (Manuscripts, Archives and Special Collections) at WSU.
  • Scholarly Communication: researchers are welcome to come and share their scholarly work, get support for open access publishing and resources to assist with data management and assessment of scholarly impact.

The Space

The CDSC is located on the 4th floor of Holland Library at Washington State University, Pullman Campus. The Center offers a flexible space and is equipped with comfortable and adaptable seats and tables - all our furniture is on wheels which allows us to easily convert the space from a seminar setting into a hands-on workshop.
